Further to the FOLM meeting on 6 April 2017, there’s been some exciting developments…
We’ll be adding to the village’s wonderful floral displays with the installation of two additional planters. The location of the current planters is indicated by the black stars, the additional planters by the red stars (see image below). Funding has been secured for their maintenance for five years – a very welcome sight in the village.
Another Community Litter Pick has been organised for Saturday 22 April. The likely location of the focus of effort with be Goatbeck; so wellies required, more details nearer the time via our Facebook page.
The Mining Memorial is making good progress with the school.
There has been a slight delay to the 20MPH scheme on Brandon Lane and Black Road. We’re awaiting installation of some cabling by Northern Power Grid – updates on this development will come.

If you’ve passed through the village recently you may have noticed the substantial works taking place on High Street to provide a new community meeting place. Here are some of the latest pictures from the site:
Regular readers of the website, and our Facebook page, may remember that the group successfully had installed three, three-tier planters in spots around the village.

We’d be interested to know where you think the wonderful notice board should be sited at our new public meeting place in High Street, Langley Moor? We plan to start work in April.

A Works Order has been placed for the gap site on High Street, Langley Moor. Work is scheduled to begin in April 2015. When this is finished the regeneration to this area should really make a significant difference to Langley Moor, we’ll keep you posted with further updates on the project.
Below is the final drawing for the ‘gap site’, we will also be installing a notice board on the site which will, among other things, display the times and dates of the Friends of Langley Moor meetings.
GREAT NEWS! Our County Councillors have secured the final amount of money needed to complete the funding we require to progress the new community ‘meeting place’ on High Street, Langley Moor.
We’ll keep you updated on the progress of this exciting project which we believe will really make a big difference to our village.
