…tops to it railings with a total of 260 points!
Look how amazing the fencing at Holliday Park now looks! The gold tops really set it off. Thank you to all who contributed to helping get the fence back in great shape!
Well that’s the Holliday Park fence painted again, should be good for at least a couple of years. Danny Bone (Chair of FOLM), Mick Brett and Paul Taylor from the Friends of Langley Moor would like to say a big thank you to the guys from Tesco’s Langley Moor and Durham County Council for their fantastic help and support. A special thanks also to Reprotec, who are based in the High Street in Langley Moor, who kindly funded the total cost of the Hammerite we used to paint the fencing. Some images below, including before and after shots.
What a wonderful afternoon had by all. The official opening of the new play areas in Holliday Park took place this afternoon (20 April, 2.00pm).
Many, many thanks to everyone that attended. All the children present seemed to really enjoy themselves and even the weather was great for this special occasion! Pictures from today:
Just in time for the Easter holidays, Holliday Park is completed and open for business to be enjoyed by all!
Unfortunately the seat and down wire is missing from our zip wire, but this certainly doesn’t spoil the enjoyment of the other facilities, which within moments of the security fencing being taken down, were being tested by local children! Picnic benches and seating are installed and awaiting some good weather!
We are very proud of our new park, and very thankful to everyone who helped make this project a reality.
Work is progressing at a steady pace in Holliday Park! See the images below for the latest work installing new surfaces and pathways and the ‘speckled’ safety surface!

The refurbishment of the play area in Holliday Park is getting nearer…
Weather permitting, work should begin on Monday 22 February. You will recall all the new play equipment has been chosen by local children. New fencing and picnic tables and more will be installed.
Can’t wait to see it when it is all finished.
Wonderful news to start the New Year. The Big Play application which was made to Sita Trust for £30,000 has been successful.
This money will form part of the funding to progress the Holliday Park project! Exciting times for the project and Langley Moor.
Our Holliday Park project is making great progress with the funding application form submitted. £75,000 from Section 106 (contribution agreement with housing developers building in our area) and we are extremely grateful to the Mid Durham AAP for a £9,000 contribution.
If our application is successful it is hoped that work will begin in the park in May. We’ll keep you updated when further developments arise!
Friends of Langley Moor have been working hard with our Parish County Councillors to develop plans to refurbish Holliday Park in the village. As part of this we’ve proudly donated two wonderful new seats for the park. Located near the entrance in a wonderful spot the seats look great.
We’ll hopefully have some more updates soon on ongoing work at the park – it is all very exciting!
